IMPAACT4HIV Partners Review Progress in Pediatric HIV Care in Africa

JOHANNESBURG — The IMPAACT4HIV consortium brought together health partners and stakeholders from across Africa to review progress in addressing pediatric advanced HIV disease. Held in mid?2025 in South Africa, the meeting highlighted shared challenges and progress in scaling up evidence?based care for children and adolescents living with HIV.

The project, led by the Aurum Institute and supported across six countries including Nigeria, Mozambique and the Democratic Republic of Congo, aims to strengthen healthcare worker capacity and broaden access to comprehensive pediatric HIV interventions. Participants discussed implementation science, training, and strategic alignments to improve health outcomes for young populations affected by HIV.
